 | Director, Traci Davis graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Elementary Education and a specialization in Early Childhood. After substitute teaching for a semester, she moved to Frederick, Maryland where she began to teach kindergarten. Traci spent 7 of her eleven years in the kindergarten classroom. During this time, she completed her Master’s Degree in Reading Instruction at Hood College in Frederick. She also had the opportunity to teach first grade and reading to fourth and fifth grades. Two years were spent overseeing a grant awarded to her school. Traci is certified by the American Red Cross in child CPR and First Aid. Rounding out her experience with children are Traci’s own three children, Audrey, 7 years, Cavin, 5 years and Rowen, 3 years.

| Teacher, Jessica White, a graduate of Jefferson High School, is with us full-time, teaching our three-year-olds in the mornings and our four and five-year-olds in the afternoons. She also teaches our Summer Session. Jessica received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Shepherd College in 2004. While attending Shepherd, Jessica received the sophomore class award. She also scored in the top 15% in the nation over the past 15 years on the PRAXIS test. The PRAXIS is a teaching certification test on the principles of teaching and learning. Before coming to Small Scholars, Jessica taught pre-kindergarten at Celebree Learning Center in Frederick, Maryland. Jessica is certified by the American Red Cross in child CPR and First Aid. Jessica has a 4 1/2 year old daughter, Caylin.

 | Instructional Assistant, Carmen Seidel, assists with our three-year-olds in the mornings and our four and five-year-olds in the afternoons. Carmen is fluent in both English and Spanish. She studied Data Processing while serving in the Navy for 5 years. She has experience assisting with preschoolers in a Montessori setting. For the past year, Carmen has taught three and four-year-olds in Children's Church. She is currently in the process of earning her Associates Degree in Early Childhood from Shepherd University. Carmen is certified by the American Red Cross in child CPR and First Aid. Carmen has three children of her own, Chad age 19, Cloe age 18 and Christie age 15.

| Instructional Assistant, Luz, assists with our two-year-olds in the mornings and infant class in the afternoons. Miss Luz is fluent in both English and Spanish. She has worked in other Preschool programs as a lead teacher for toddlers. She is certified by the American Red Cross in child CPR and First Aid.

| Instructional Assistant, Heather Kidd, Currently works at both Small Scholars locations. She worked for Frederick County Public Schools in Brunswick, MD as a special education aide for 8 Years in the Learning for Life program.Prior to that experience, she worked at Learning Tree Daycare in Brunswick, MD. She and her husband have lived in Ranson for 5 years, with their dog, Kenya. She is certified by the American Red Cross in child CPR and First Aid.

| Teacher's Aide, Kelly Peters, Kindergarten and 1st grade. Graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Multicultural Issues from California State University, Chico. She recieved her K-8 teaching certificate in 1996 from CSU Chico. Kelly Taught 2nd grade for 6 years in Roseville, CA. She currently spends her time reading and finding excellent children's books with her husband and two children under 8. She is certified by the American Red Cross in child CPR and First Aid.
